    Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

    100 Black Prince Road

As a psychodynamic psychotherapist, I guide you towards a deeper understanding of yourself, what you are struggling with and help you find a way to change and live a more fulfilling and satisfying life. Based in the psychoanalytic tradition, this kind of psychotherapy looks at how the problem you are facing today is linked to your past experiences; it explores what unconscious processes lay behind your present challenges and helps you understand and overcome it. I have lived in nine different countries, obtained dual American and British training and worked in both the private and public sectors. This experience has enriched me with exposure to a wide range of cultures and challenges. While I work primarily in English, I am fluent in Spanish, Italian and Greek. I am recognised specialist with AXA PPP healthcare, Aviva, Healix Health Services and VitalityHealth. I also work as a financial therapist to help those who need help understanding their relationship with money. To find out more about financial therapy you can refer to my website and we can book a session via Timewith.

    20 Egerton Drive, SE10 8JS

I am a qualified Psychodynamic Therapist and an Accredited Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). My way of working is to enable you to explore feelings and emotions in a safe, containing environment whilst facilitating you to make sense of your past experiences. Insights gained will enable you to begin slowly peeling away layers and meet who you truly are. With time, being comfortable with being oneself can enable you to manage difficult feelings and approach life's difficulties constructively. My approach is Psychodynamic which means I look at how past experiences have influenced you in the present. By unravelling and understanding what you bring to the sessions, deep-rooted thoughts and feelings can be explored and resolved.

Benefits of online therapy

Convenient

Online counselling or therapy is more convenient. Saving a lot travel time, participating from any device you prefer (laptop, mobile phone, or tablet) and communicating in a way you feel comfortable are key reasons that allow you to ease in to therapy.

Affordable

Online counselling is often more affordable compared to in-person therapy. While it does not mean that online therapy is cheap, it often comes at reduced cost as practitioners traditionally incur fewer costs.

Find a therapist who you match with

Therapy is all about the relationship. As such finding a counsellor or therapist who feels right for you is paramount.

Additionally, if you are searching for a mental health specialist with experience in a particular area of interest, you can connect with them without having to commute far.

High therapeutic results

In the past 15 years, a significant body of research has been conducted regarding the effectiveness of online therapy with positive results. More and more evidence supports the effectiveness of online therapies.

Online Therapy

Or perhaps you don’t want to commute and prefer to find a therapist online. With Timewith, you can book an appointment with an online counsellor or therapist, start chatting with them immediately through our private and encrypted chat service and have your sessions within 48 hours.

Includes free phone call with your therapist before your session.

Change therapist at no extra cost.

Your card is debited 24hrs after each session to make sure you're happy with how everything went.

ONLINE WELLBEING SERVICE I currently offer an Online Wellbeing Call Service which is on offer to those who experience limited access to regular therapy due to the limitations of their chronic health condition. The service is available to those who are mostly bed or house bound due to their health (please do not schedule a session for this service if you do not have a chronic or limiting health condition). If you would like to access the Online Wellbeing Call Service please schedule an Online Assessment first. This will allow me to assess your needs and how well you may benefit from the service, but also assess and risk (if you have not had an assessment and you book an Online Wellbeing Session, your session will be cancelled). PLEASE BOOK THE FULL 120 MINUTE ASSESSMENT EVEN IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SPLIT THIS TIME OVER SEVERAL DAYS OR WEEKS. WE CAN DISSCUSS FOLLOWING ASSESSMENT APPOINTMENTS DURING OUR FIRST MEETING. The Online Wellbeing Service is available to book up to 12 hours in advance to allow to you work within your limitations. Very often with chronic health conditions, individuals experience a fluctuation of symptoms which can make it difficult to book appointments such as emotional support services. I hope that by making an online service available within 12 hours, you may be able to access this support with more ease (please do not book later than this time frame).

Vicky Day Counsellor
In the first sessions, I make a contract with the client (usually open-ended once a week for psychotherapy or 10 coaching sessions when someone wants to achieve a specific goal). In the first 3 sessions, we will be developing our relationship together and we bring the main issues to the table. Therapy is a deep-healing process and requires some time. Coaching is more focused on development and is meant to be more brief.

My training began in 1999 with a BA in Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. In the United States, a psychology degree encompasses a generalist training that equips the psychologist to assist a wide range of people. The training is a rigorous programme that combines academic coursework and supervised clinical experience with an aim to train them to assist people with varying mental health challenges. Since then, I have completed two qualifications at Master’s level, a UK-based counselling training and a four-year postgraduate specialisation in psychodynamic psychotherapy at WPF Therapy, which is grounded in the psychoanalytic approach. Obtaining these qualifications has involved years of therapy, of supervised clinical practice and working with a range of psychological difficulties.
