    Elaine Angell

    Clinical Psychologist

    Glasgow G2 2DH

Welcome! I worked for decades within NHS adult mental health services and also have extensive experience of running my own private practice which focusses on providing assessment/formulation-based therapy to adults who are suitable for my service. I offer support to clients to explore, talk and think about difficulties and experiences past and present, to process feelings and thoughts of all kinds, to try to understand relevant psychological matters as well as possible and to receive personally tailored assistance by undergoing psychotherapy and receiving specific guidance which are considered to be appropriate and likely to be of most help. I always try to form and maintain a good therapeutic relationship and follow an integrative approach which means, for example, that I may draw upon ideas and techniques that are associated with supportive psychotherapy, CBT, ACT, schema therapy, narrative therapy and/or solution-focussed therapy. Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council and a member of the British Psychological Society's Division of Clinical Psychology, I have a special interest in resilience. I have clinics within Glasgow city centre and in a Glasgow suburb.

    Hope Street

Hi my name is Anita. I am a warm, positive, caring individual who gives autonomy to clients in sessions. My therapy sessions have been successful til date. I believe this is because I am able to develop a strong working relationship with my clients who have stated during feedback that I am easy to talk to, non judgemental, give them hope and help then see the positives in life.

    Counsellor

    Studio 70, G427AA

I am passionate about supporting the transformation of negative and outdated emotional, mental and behavioural patterns to free ourselves, realise our potential and fully step into who we truly are. The work I do focuses on connections, connections to ourselves, to others and with the world we live in. I specialise in the areas of suicide and crisis and see these as gateways for transformation. I am a motivated, creative, and compassionate person who sees humanity with both its lightness and its darkness and am willing to ‘dance’ with both. I love to dance and express myself through movement on my own and with others. I support people to reconnect to their bodies, and to themselves. Rebuilding a relationship with your body and your physicality can be an important step in transforming and empowering yourself. Most important to me is our reconnection to hope, joy and love; to our true selves.

Elaine
I draw upon a very wide pool of professional experience, psychological ideas and knowledge which stems from research findings to try to provide help which is just right for you and which is really beneficial. During the initial assessment phase, I try to gain enough relevant information and form impressions to be able to outline a possible "formulation" which I will share with you and seek your views about. This is a body of thoughts, subject to modification based on further conversations with you, your feedback and other factors, which (for example) offers an opinion about how your psychological problems may have arisen, what may be maintaining them or making them worse over time, what form of help is recommended and why this is likely to alleviate your distress and other difficulties. Fornulations can suggest or explain other things too such as how and why certain problems or symptoms may be related to each other and how to reduce the likelihood of particular difficulties recurring in the future. Your questions, views, comments and respectful feedback are always welcome. For example, you might tell me that you wish to proceed at a faster or slower pace, to have less or more frequent appointments, that you want to raise a particular topic or to return to or focus more on one that we have been discussing, that you are struggling with an aspect of therapy or that you want to try a specific therapeutic approach.
